What Are Clear Aligners?
Clear aligners are a series of transparent, custom-made trays that gently move your teeth into their planned positions over time. Each aligner is worn for approximately one to two weeks before progressing to the next set.
Unlike traditional braces, clear aligners can be removed for eating, drinking, brushing, and flossing, making them a popular choice for adults and teenagers who want a more discreet orthodontic treatment.
At NAMS Dental Clinic, every treatment begins with a detailed examination, digital scans, and careful planning to ensure your aligners are customised specifically for your smile.
Why Choose Clear Aligners?
Discreet Appearance
Nearly invisible aligners let you straighten your teeth confidently without the noticeable appearance of traditional metal braces.
Comfortable & Removable
Smooth, custom-made aligners are removable for eating, brushing, and flossing, making daily life more comfortable and convenient.
Fits Your Lifestyle
Fewer clinic visits and no food restrictions make clear aligners ideal for busy adults, professionals, and students.
Personalised Treatment
Digital scans and customised treatment planning ensure precise tooth movement and predictable results throughout your orthodontic journey.
Is Clear Aligner Treatment Right for You?
Clear aligners are suitable for many teenagers and adults with mild to moderate orthodontic concerns, including:
- Crowded, crooked, or overlapping teeth
- Gaps between teeth
- Mild bite issues, such as overbite, underbite, or crossbite
- Teeth that have shifted after previous orthodontic treatment
Not every case is suitable for clear aligners. More complex orthodontic problems may be better treated with traditional braces. During your consultation, our dentist will assess your teeth and recommend the most suitable treatment for your smile.
Clear Aligners vs Traditional Braces
Clear aligners offer excellent aesthetics and convenience but require good discipline. Braces remain the preferred option for many complex orthodontic cases because they provide greater control over tooth movement.
Before You Start Clear Aligner Treatment
Successful treatment depends on wearing your aligners consistently and following your dentist’s instructions.
- Wear aligners 20–22 hours daily
- Remove before eating or drinking (except water)
- Brush before putting aligners back in
- Clean your aligners every day
- Attend your scheduled review appointments
- Wear retainers after treatment
Good compliance leads to the best results and helps keep your treatment on schedule.
